Our theme this term is HELP! We will be looking at different people who help us and what they do. The children have already been enjoying locking people up in our Overdale Cell – especially the teachers! We have planned to have a role play hospital, Fire Station and Dentists to name a few throughout the term.
We are also looking forward to lots of visits – we have already a visit from a local GP and a pharmacist planned.
This week has been very busy in Reception- we have been painting and drawing Santa, using the Christmas stencils, sewing for our calendars, using cereal and spaghetti in the finger gym, working in Santa’s workshop, making Christmas Tree cookies, counting presents in Santa’s sack and making our Santa Lists.
We have had a fabulous first half term – settling in and getting to know each other – thank you Reception class for showing me what true ‘Superheroes’ you are.
Next half term we look forward to sharing more Supertato texts and beginning our writing topic based around the story – How to Catch a Star.
We will also be practicing for our Christmas Early Years Performance – ‘Stable by Starlight’ and can’t wait to see the children getting into character -more news to follow about this nearer the time.
This term we will be looking at Our Place In the World through the theme of Superheroes. We will be thinking about what makes each and everyone of us super whilst getting to know our new class members (and grown ups!)
PE will be on a Tuesday morning – please make sure your child has a PE kit (T shirt, shorts and plimsolls) on their peg. Also no earrings can be worn for PE – please remove these before school.
