EYFS Curriculum Web – Summer 2 2021

This half term our new text is - We're Going on a Bear Hunt. We will be making story maps, role playing, hot seating and innovating our own version of a hunt.

We will also be looking at the seaside and our local area after our trip to Filey beach. In maths we will continue number recognition to 20, number bonds to 10, halving and doubling and 3D shapes.

Please keep up the fantastic reading at home - your support is greatly appreciated.

Watch out the Giant is about! Our theme this term is plants and growing and we will be reading different versions of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' as a hook for our talk for writing. The children will be using their growing phonics knowledge to write stories independently, design posters, make lists etc

We will be growing and caring for different kinds of plants and taking cuttings and re-potting our existing plants in the EYFS outdoor area in readiness for transportation to our new school! (Exciting!)

In maths we will be looking at numbers 11 to 20 and investigating doubling, halving and sharing.

Keep posting your photos on our class Dojo page of all the wonderful things you get up to at home together

Welcome to EYFS

Reception

This half term we have some exciting additions to the EYFS classroom - we have chicks arriving on the 8th of March for 2 weeks, so our learning will be based around their visit! We will be looking at the story 'The Little Red Hen' and using it for our talk for writing project. We will also be looking at the celebration and traditions of Easter.

Hello! Our EYFS theme this half term is Transport. Our online lockdown learning is available daily on the EYFS class dojo page - check in to find daily stories read by Mrs Stewart, Mrs Harvey or Miss Lester, or singing and rhymes with Mrs Thomas. There will also be phonics, maths and reading challenges and other activities linked to the EYFS curriculum. These activities will be the same as what the children in school will be doing - look out for photos and videos popping up all day on dojos so you can share what we are up to in school with your child. Don't forget to post the wonderful learning happening at home onto your child's class dojo profile so we can see what you are up to and award dojo points too.

If you require any additional support regarding your child's learning or well-being please message me on dojo or phone the school office and I get back to you ASAP
