Children can come into school from 8.30am each morning, to enjoy a bagel and a book, children can either read their own book from home, a school reading book, read using the apps on the iPad or enjoy listening to a story read by a member of staff.
Books and bagels fits in perfectly with our school improvement priority - reading, this has been made possible with support from the National School Breakfast Programme delivered by Family Action and Magic Breakfast, who have not only given us a grant to purchase books but who are also providing the bagels for the next four terms.
Books and Bagels will replace ‘Wake and Shake’.
We have also made some changes to breakfast club too. Breakfast club continues to run from 7.45 – 8.30 each day, however as the school’s finances continue to be squeezed by Government cuts to Education Funding, sadly we are no longer able to subsidise the cost of Breakfast Club to the same extent as we have done up until now.
As of 14th January the daily charge for Breakfast Club will be £2 per child and will only be payable through Parent Pay as we move to a ‘cashless’ office - please do not give payment to the Breakfast Club Staff, as they are not able to take it. If you have lost your Parent Pay login or need support with using it please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing your child at either breakfast club or books and bagels.
